K12 Timed Reading Practice App Reviews

I agree that this app does exactly what it was designed for. I would love it if they would add the ability to record the readers voice so students could hear what they sound like too.

I like this app, but the back button is in a place that at least my daughter likes to rest her thumb. And with every hit of the back button, the reading is reset. very, very annoying. Move the back button to the pause screen, and all would be great. I would also love for a larger font for my not so young eyes when I am helping make sure she gets every letter right. Fix those two things and I will give it five stars.

I use this in a classroom, but in order to keep track of progress students have to remember to use the same iPad every time. Some iCloud or even BlueTooth syncing of users would make this app so much better.

Add the ability to video record readers during reading for playback.

I bought the app after using the 4th grade level for my daughter. Excited, and loved it! However, the k stories are terrible. It,s like a tongue twister that is NOT an enjoyable story. Also, why are there names to read. Names are difficult for beginning readers. I challenge you to create better stories for k-1. Comprehension would be SO great! Thx.

The older stories are great! But the Kinder is terrible. My daughter hates them and she loves reading...

Stories are fine, but the timer runs about six times faster than it should. This throws off the calculations for the words/minute and you have an extremely disappointed reader who is already not a great reader which is why I bought the app! Please fix your timer.

I used K12 Timed Reading practice in the classroom at fluency center. The students loved it and were really motivated to increase their reading speed. I had them write down their WPM on a sticky note and they put it on a chart. I liked how I could put my entire class in roster and I could adjust the passage based on their Reading level.

Issues with the timer here as well... It goes twice as fast as it should! As a result, all wpm calculations that the app makes automatically are incorrect. Very disappointing as there are a great variety of stories.

My daughter was excited to read the passages to try to beat her wpm, but about 4 passages in, the timer started going way too fast. This was very demotivating. I emailed support, so please fix the timer!
